SAN FRANCISCO — Espresso aficionados are prepared to shell out massive bucks for the right cup of coffee. But Californians could also be taking it to the subsequent degree.

A single cup of espresso just bought for $seventy five at Klatch Coffee’s new San Francisco location, which hosted a tasting over the weekend.

The only-source natural espresso bean on the coronary heart of this exclusive brew is called Elida Geisha Pure, which garnered a record $803 per pound at public sale and price almost $1,200 a pound after roasting, according to CNN affiliate KGO in San Francisco.

Klatch bought 10 pounds of the beans, which is just 10 % of the one hundred pounds that was auctioned off worldwide on the Best of Panama green coffee public sale hosted by the Specialty Espresso Association of Panama in 2018.

“This coffee shouldn’t be over roasted like what you get at different locations. It’s roasted how espresso was roasted back within the day,” Bo Thiara, co-proprietor of Klatch’s new Northern California location, informed KGO.

Couldn’t make the Might 12 tasting event at Klatch’s new San Francisco location? (No tastings are scheduled at Klatch’s five Southern California locations.)

Don’t worry. Klatch is selling the beans online for $seventy five for 18 grams (0.sixty three ounces) of coffee.

If $seventy five is just too expensive, even for this limited provide, different award-profitable luggage are priced as low as $14.95 for 12 ounces.
