Though the Democrats gained back control of the Home, Republicans increased their margins in the Senate. CBS Information’ Major Garrett reported that the president stated he was ecstatic as he watched the election results are available. He had targeted in the closing days of the campaign on serving to Republicans keep their majority within the Senate, and that effort seems to have paid off. Wednesday morning, he was tweeting concerning the GOP’s “Massive Victory.”
Still, the Democratic majority within the House will make it harder for President Trump to maneuver his agenda via Congress, until he works more intently with Democrats. He has already referred to as Democratic chief Nancy Pelosi to congratulate her, and he even had a conciliatory tweet for her Wednesday.
“In all fairness, Nancy Pelosi deserves to be chosen Speaker of the Home by the Democrats. If they provide her a tough time, maybe we’ll add some Republican votes. She has earned this great honor!”
