Longtime radio general manager killed in Heath crash

HEATH, Ohio – The overall manager of WNKO/WHTH Radio in Newark was killed Tuesday in a single-car crash.

Heath police say seventy three-yr-previous John T. Swank, who went by Tom, was pronounced lifeless at the scene of the crash on Hopewell Drive.

The Newark-based mostly radio station shared their condolences after hearing of the loss of their longtime GM, pal and mentor. In a Facebook post, the station stated Tom was generally known as a “robust-minded however truthful man” who supported quite a few charitable organizations in Licking County.

The Columbus Dispatch reports Swank joined WNKO/WHTH in 1970 as a salesman after working for the Newark Advocate. He was promoted to basic manager in 1988.

Swank’s automotive was found flip over in a ditch close to the doorway of Park Lanes Bowling Alley. The crash remains beneath investigation.
