RICHMOND, Va. – An investigation is underway after a dog was set on fire while tied to a pole in Abner Clay Park Sunday night.
The male pit bull with a camo collar was coated in accelerant and deliberately set on hearth around 7:30 Sunday night time on the park, in response to Richmond Animal Care and Control (RACC).
The shelter says witnesses noticed an adult man sporting a number of layers of pants run from the scene in the direction of Belvidere Road.
The dog, now named Tommie, is being handled for burns to over 40% of his physique at Virginia Veterinary Centers. The shelter hopes that they’ll me capable of save him.
