City Council votes in favor of placing measure on ballot to increase hotel tax

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego City Council voted 5-4 Monday in favor of putting a measure on the March 2020 poll to increase the town’s lodge tax from 10.5 % to as high as 15.75 % to fund an enlargement of the San Diego Conference Middle while also funding homeless providers and infrastructure repairs.

The proposed measure nonetheless needs to be drafted by city attorneys and return to the council for a remaining vote.
